CREDIT / PAYMENT POLICY
Upon credit approval, we ask our customers to agree to the following terms:
TERMS OF SALE: Net 30 days from invoice date
- Augen Optics accepts wire payments, checks and the following credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, American Express. Credit card service charges of 2% are waived if payment is made within 10 days of statement date. Please provide the name, payment method, account number and expiration date for your credit card.
- Augen Optics charges state sales tax for delivery of lenses to locations within California. If you are a California customer and can provide us with a Tax Exemption Certificate, you will not be charged the California sales tax on your orders.
- A service charge of US $25.00 will be assessed for each bounced check.
- Please do not deduct any discrepancies from your payment without prior approval from the Augen Optics Credit Department at 866-284-3611.
Past Due Accounts
- A 1.5% per month finance charge is applied to all past due balances.
- Customer accounts will be converted to Cash On Delivery (COD) accounts if balances due are not paid according to the above terms.
- If customer defaults on payment of any outstanding valid invoices, the customer agrees to pay any collection and/or attorney expenses.
If your outstanding balance is past due for over 60 days and you wish to schedule a payment plan, please notify the Augen Optics Credit Department at 866-284-3611.
SHIPPING POLICY
- Augen Optics lens shipments are sent FOB shipping point (customer is responsible for goods once they leave our premises).
- Customers pay for shipping on orders of 10 pairs or less. All shipments are sent via 2-day air.
- Orders of 11 pairs or more will include 2-day shipping free of charge.
- Customers requesting overnight shipment on orders of 11 pairs or more will be charged the difference between 2-day shipping costs and overnight shipping costs.
- Back orders are processed as soon as product is available, unless “no backorders” is indicated on the order.
WARRANTY & EXCHANGE POLICIES
Defect Warranty. Augen warrants all of our lenses to be free of any manufacturing defects. We will replace or credit your account for any unprocessed lens that is defective. Processed lenses with obvious manufacturing defects will also be eligible for replacement unless we deem that the processed lens is not defective. All manufactured defective lenses should be returned to Augen Optics for credit to ensure we are aware of the problem and can correct it immediately.
One-Year Scratch Warranty. Augen guarantees the scratch resistance of its scratch coated lenses under normal conditions for one full year from the date of the original prescription. The scratch warranty applies to edged lenses only. Replacement of lenses due to failure of the scratch coating is limited to the original prescription and the original frame. Replacement lenses will be provided one time only. The addition of mirror or AR coating on lenses voids the scratch coating warranty. To receive replacement lenses or credit, the coated product must be returned to Augen with a copy of the original prescription.
90-Day Non-Adapt Warranty. For 90 days following the dispensing date, Augen will accept returns of progressive lenses that must be replaced due to patient non-adaption. Augen will credit the price of the progressive lens blanks to the fabricating laboratory’s account number. To receive credit, lenses must be returned with a copy of the original prescription.
Shipments. Any discrepancies with shipments must be reported within 5 days of receipt of products. Excess inventory returns will be subject to a 20% re-stocking fee. Product in customer’s possession for 90 days or more from invoice date cannot be returned for credit.
Customers are responsible for paying any freight charges caused by refused shipments.
Augen Optics cannot accept claims for products that have been damaged during shipping. All shipments must be examined upon delivery. If any products are damaged, it is the customer’s responsibility to file a claim with the carrier within five days of delivery.
RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION (RMA) POLICY
Contact Augen Optics at 866-284-3611 for an RMA number before returning any product.
- All returned merchandise must be in like-new and resalable condition in its ORIGINAL packaging.
- Write the RMA number clearly on the outside of the shipping box and mailing label. Please do not write on the product packaging itself.
